Food Allergy Testing: We can test for food allergies or sensitivities through the blood. A blood sample is simply taken in office, shipped to a laboratory, and we are sent the results. The patient then returns for a follow up appointment to discuss the results and begin on a nutritional and supplement plan to assist with healing the gut and eliminating the source of the allergy. The ultimate goal with treatment is to not only assist with the patients initial health concerns, but also to restore the gut to a point where they can once again eat the foods they are allergic to without experiencing any negative side effects.

Adrenal, Hormone, & Cortisol Testing: The adrenal glands are the managers of the stress response in our body and control hormones such as cortisol and DHEA. If these levels are imbalanced, we may experience symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, insomnia, obesity, diabetes, and anxiety and have a more difficult time handling stressful situations.

Adrenal fatigue and related health concerns are all too common in our society and little is being done by the medical community to address and treat it before it gets too late. Fortunately, we utilize reliable methods to test hormone levels through a saliva sample taken at different points throughout the day. With the results from this test, we are able to accurately interpret how well the body is dealing with stress, address adrenal functioning, and treat adrenal fatigue efficiently and effectively.

MicroNutrient Testing: Even if you eat a balanced diet, exercise reguarly, and take multivitamins, you can still be nutritionally deficient. Due to issues with absorption, chronic illness, age, or other lifestyle factors, many individuals are not obtaining all of the nutrients their bodies need to grow and thrive. Through specialized blood testing we can take a look inside the body to measure vitamin levels, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and view overall immune system functioning; We can also get a detailed look at carbohydrate metabolism, genetic code, and even see how quickly your cells are aging.

MicroNutrient testing is meant for those experiencing chronic conditions or for individuals who are generally healthy. Basically, it’s a great way for anyone to quickly and easily measure their nutrient status and begin a replenishment program in order to reach their optimal level of functioning.

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO): SIBO is a chronic bacterial infection of the small intestine characterized by symptoms such as gas and bloating that don’t seem to be relieved with other gastrointestinal medicines or treatments. In patients with SIBO, bacteria meant for the gastrointestinal tract grow abnormally and in large amounts in the small intestine, a location that is not meant to house that many bacteria. Once tested positive for SIBO, the patient undergoes therapeutic alterations in diet to lessen the infection combined with either natural or pharmaceutical antibiotics followed by phases designed to help replenish, repair, and rebuild the gut.

SIBO can be tested through a simple breath test that looks at the different levels of hydrogen and methane gas produced by bacteria in the small intestine. The test can be taken home and performed over a span of 4 hours. The test kit is then shipped to a lab and the results are delivered to our office. A follow up appointment is set with one of our doctors and a treatment plan is set in place. The patient then returns to the office in 4-6 weeks to perform another SIBO test to assure the bacteria is gone.
