Dr. Lisa Lavoie

Dr. Lisa Lavoie is a Los Angeles-based Naturopathic Medical Doctor. She completed her medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Canada and is licensed with the State of California. She is a primary care physician with a special focus on female mental health including depression, eating disorders, weight and body image. She uses a completely drugless approach, which is the perfect fit for those who are not interested in medication or would like to do the work to get off medication.

“Thank you SO much for today. I am so grateful for your knowledge and care. I think you are the first doctor I’ve visited with whereby I felt confident and hopeful upon leaving. You. Are. Magic.”

I became a doctor because I know what it’s like to live in a body that is not OK. I lost my teens and twenties to Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Depression, and the gamut of disordered eating.

I operate from the perspective that the body knows what it’s doing. Always.  Whatever it’s doing — from chronic fatigue, to stubborn fat, to pain, to binge eating, to autoimmune conditions, to depression — is often the very thing that’s trying to keep you alive right now. My job is to put the pieces together to help your body find a more elegant solution.

“Working with Lisa was the best thing I ever did for myself. For almost 10 years, her guidance, knowledge and ability to encourage and motivate me has changed my life.”

The answer {to even the most serious situations} may be as simple as uncovering specific nutrient deficiencies or food incompatibilities, or as comprehensive as learning how to fine-tune your nutrition, supplement support and lifestyle to allow your genetics to shine.

As a naturopathic doctor, I believe in choosing the most effective + least invasive treatment options, first — while saving pharmaceuticals and surgery for last {and hopefully never}.

My favorite moments are when a patient discovers that they aren’t a medical label … and they don’t have to settle for a life of pain, struggle or disease management.

Ultimately, health is a resource that we can tap into to get on with the really important things in life. I love that I get to use both my personal experience and my 14 years as a doctor to show women how to resolve their health struggles to allow them to live a meaningful life that matters.

“If you’re looking for a mixture of truth serum & sparkle, you’ve found her. Lisa has the most fabulous sense of magic about her — it’s her own personal form of alchemy. She has a way of saying the un-sugar-coated truth in a way that is truly empowering.”
